The Role:
Regional Development Operations Director
Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 plus 10% bonus
General Responsibilities:
The Regional Development Manager - Ontario is responsible for supporting the continued growth and operational success ofthe company throughout Ontario. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this role oversees the performance of both franchise and corporate restaurants while supporting new restaurant development, franchise partner relationships, site selection, market expansion and new restaurant openings. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring an individual who is equally comfortable working in restaurants, coaching operators, supporting development projects, opening new locations and representing the company throughout the Ontario market.
− Direct the activities of all Ontario in accordance with company policies, standards and operating procedures.
− Build and maintain strong relationships with Franchise Partners, corporate restaurant leadership, landlords, suppliers and external partners.
− Support strategic growth of the Ontario market through operational excellence and development initiatives.
− Represent the company professionally throughout Ontario.
− Recommend improvements to operating systems, policies, procedures and guest experience initiatives.
− Work collaboratively with all Head Office departments.
Personally Performed Responsibilities
Regional Operations:
- Monitor operational performance of all assigned restaurants.
- Conduct regular operational reviews and develop action plans.
- Review restaurant financial performance including sales, labour, food cost and profitability.
- Coach franchisees, General Managers and management teams.
- Ensure brand, food safety and guest experience standards are maintained.
- Respond to operational issues and guest concerns.
- Lead operational execution of marketing initiatives and system rollouts.
- Prepare written reports following restaurant visits.
New Restaurant Development:
- Participate in site selection, market evaluations and real estate discussions.
- Assist with demographic analysis and market research.
- Coordinate pre-opening planning and operational readiness.
- Lead Head Office operational support during new restaurant openings.
- Ensure opening checklists, training programs and milestones are completed.
Franchise Partner Relationships:
- Develop trusted relationships with Franchise Partners.
- Conduct regular business reviews.
- Support franchisees in achieving financial and operational goals.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain regular communication regarding company initiatives.
Market Growth & Development:
- Identify future development opportunities throughout Ontario.
- Participate in evaluation of prospective Franchise Partners.
- Support franchise recruitment initiatives.
- Develop relationships with landlords, brokers and industry partners.
- Represent the company at industry and community events.
Leadership & Administration:
- Prepare regular operational reports for the COO.
- Maintain regional operating calendars and project timelines.
- Assist in development of operational policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Training, Development, HR and Finance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of multi-unit restaurant leadership experience.
- Franchise operations experience considered an asset.
- Experience opening new restaurants preferred.
- Strong financial acumen including P&Ls, labour and food cost management.
- Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid home office and field-based position.
- Frequent travel throughout Ontario.
- Early mornings, evenings and weekends as required.
- Extensive time spent in operating restaurants.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation required.
