Doug Ross

Doug is the co-founder and Operating Partner of Blue Shock Executive Search directing professional management searches for the last 15 years. His focus is restaurants, hospitality, food service sales and leadership as well as executive search in Canada.

Doug has successfully executed management level searches in operations such as General Managers, Chefs, Regional and Multi-Unit Leaders, Directors and VP level executives. He has also been instrumental with sales as well as sales leadership. His company offers a unique and dynamic approach delivering results and building relationships. Doug is confident in his ability to recruit across Canada in intensely competitive markets attracting candidates through aggressive external strategies.

Before Doug established Blue Shock in 2003 he had a long and prosperous career in restaurants, leading a business for one of the most successful national restaurant companies in Canada. He also experienced multi-unit management, leading training for new restaurant openings, and worked as an operations trainer in the U.S, impacting and influencing revenues, profit and people. 

Doug is an avid sports fan and passionate dad. His passions include skiing, golf and recreational hockey, cooking, wine and spending time with his wife and two daughters Emma and Sophie.

 

Trevor Wowniar

Trevor is a Co-Founder and Partner of Blue Shock and focused on the firm’s Western Canadian Market.

Before starting Blue Shock, Trevor enjoyed a 14-year hospitality career gaining insight into a verity of independent and chain restaurant concepts, hotels & resorts and golf clubs. About half of his restaurant career was spent in the leadership ranks with Earls Restaurants. After leaving the restaurant industry Trevor spent 4 years with Manpower, one of the world’s largest temporary and direct hire staffing firms.  His time with Manpower was focused on Business development for the first 3 years; he then moved into the Branch Manager position and oversaw the Temporary staffing division for the Calgary operation.

For the past 15 years with Blue Shock Trevor has been focused on assisting the firm’s clients achieve their recruitment and growth strategies. He has conducted numerous senior and mid-level management searches for various restaurants, hotels, golf clubs, casinos and consumer services. He is also involved in or manages each search for senior level Directors, Vice Presidents and Presidents for some of Canada’s largest and most recognized restaurant and food service companies.

Trevor is a volunteer with the Mavericks Hockey Association as an Assistant Coach for 2 minor hockey teams. He enjoys golf, hockey, cooking and travel. You can also find him keeping up with the local food trends, enjoying a good bottle of wine and cooking and entertaining for friends and family. But most of his free time is spent with his daughter Kira, son Tyler and wife Leona.

 

Angela Archer

Angela’s passion for recruiting comes from a career cultivated in the Hospitality Industry. Whether it was sourcing talent for special events or staffing new locations for food service providers, Angela has a keen sense for searching out skills and abilities that align with the needs of her clients. Having previously recruited for Management and Culinary she is aware of the requirements in an ever changing business climate.

Angela has owned and managed several different businesses within  the hospitality Industry and brings a unique and creative perspective to recruiting. Quite simply, she knows what it takes to find that right employee in any situation.

Angela’s background includes, full service, QSR, event staffing, franchise development, managed food services and is currently making a foray in the professional social media arena.

Her experience makes her an asset to Blue Shock in the continued development and recruitment of key staff for our clients.

When she is not working hard finding the perfect candidate for you, you will find her curled up with a book and cuddling with her two chihuahuas, or off soaking up the sun on an exotic island.

 

Tom Sieluzycki

A ten-year industry veteran, operating best in class restaurants and resto lounges for some of Toronto’s busiest hot spots. Upon graduating with a Bachelor in Business – Hospitality Operations, he embarked on a career of learning everything he could about restaurant operations. Tom has successfully recruited top tier talent, including General Managers, Chefs, Beverage Managers, and understands what it takes to source great people.

Having managed and built key teams in a variety of venues, Tom has a unique understanding of today’s hospitality business climate, and what our clients and candidates are looking for. Positioning others for success has always been a key element of Tom’s approach for delivering exceptional results, and joining Blue Shock has allowed him to do just that.

Tom is an avid traveler, and a fan of the outdoors. When he is not working, you can find him backpacking around the world, or hiking Ontario’s great outdoors. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially over dinner.
