Job Description:
The Controller plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the financial health and operational reporting across four interconnected business units. This role is responsible for managing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls while ensuring the company maintains strong compliance and financial discipline.
Working closely with ownership and operational leaders, the Controller provides financial insight that supports strategic decision-making, operational improvements, and long-term planning. This individual will also play an important role in improving reporting systems, implementing technology solutions, and strengthening intercompany financial processes.
This role requires a hands-on leader who understands the complexities of manufacturing, processing, logistics, and inventory-based businesses.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy and Reporting
- Prepare and analyze all financial reporting including P&L statements and monthly close processes
- Lead forecasting, budgeting, product costing, and financial planning to support growth
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure business stability and agility
- Provide financial insights that support strategic decision making across all operations
- Supervise invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax compliance, and payroll
- Work with external auditors and tax accountants to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounting and implement best practices for financial controls
- Ensure timely, accurate financial data to support business decisions and operational improvement
- Oversee all compliance related responsibilities including licensing, permitting, and regulatory filings
- Manage export documentation and ensure compliance with domestic and international requirements
- Coordinate insurance, risk management, and renewal processes
- Lead procurement practices and vendor management to optimize costs and quality
- Oversee IT systems and work with external providers to ensure secure, reliable technology support
- Manage general administrative functions critical to company operations
- Lead the selection and implementation of accounting and ERP software
- Integrate technology to streamline reporting, reduce manual processes, and improve data accuracy
- Support change management across all operations during system improvements
Strengths and Expertise
- Proven financial leadership in manufacturing or food processing environments
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Hands-on knowledge of GAAP, cash management, and payroll systems
- Experience with software implementation and organizational change
- Exceptional integrity, dependability, and follow through
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or controller role
- Experience in manufacturing or food processing industries strongly preferred
- Proficiency with financial software, spreadsheets, and ERP systems
