Job Title: Assistant General Manager (AGM)
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Reports To: General Manager
Compensation & Incentives: $58,000-$65,000
Bonus potential of up to $10,000/year. Clothing allowance is $500/year, cell phone allowance is $75/month. Comprehensive health & dental package.

The Opportunity:
Our client is looking for a motivated AGM who is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations alongside the GM to ensure a seamless and profitable dining experience. This is a high-visibility role for someone who thrives in dynamic environments and wants to grow their career in restaurants, and move into a GM role within 12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise staff while fostering a positive, collaborative environment and providing ongoing coaching and performance evaluations.
- Operational Excellence: Implement and enforce SOPs, monitor daily operations for improvements, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Customer Service: Deliver exceptional guest experiences, address concerns promptly, and develop strategies to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
- Financial Management: Manage and optimize budgets, monitor inventory and labour costs, analyze financial reports, and implement actions to improve profitability.
- Marketing & Sales: Develop and execute marketing strategies, promotions, and events to attract and retain customers while meeting revenue targets.
- Quality Control: Maintain consistent food, beverage, and service standards through collaboration with kitchen staff and regular inspections.
- Communication & Reporting: Communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders and prepare reports on KPIs, financial performance, and operational metrics.
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager or similar role in the full service restaurant industry (preferably premium casual space)
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams, including recruiting, training, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations, including kitchen management, service standards, and health & safety compliance.
- Familiarity with inventory control, labour cost management, and operational efficiency strategies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in POS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
