Doug is the co-founder and Operating Partner of Blue Shock Executive Search, leading professional management searches since incorporating the business in 2003. His focus is restaurants, hospitality/hotels, food service as well as executive search in North America.
Doug has successfully executed management-level searches in operations such as General Managers, Chefs, F & B Managers and Directors, among others. He has also been sourcing and placing senior-level executives, including Directors, Vice Presidents, Presidents, COO’s, CFO’s and CEO’s.
Doug is confident in his ability to recruit across Canada & the United States with highly competitive markets attracting candidates through aggressive programs and strategies.He is committed to delivering a unique and dynamic approach and achieving results through building long-standing relationships with his clients and candidates. Before Doug established Blue Shock Executive Search in 2003, he had a long and prosperous career in restaurants, leading a business for one of the most successful national restaurant chains in North America. He also experienced multi-unit management, leading training for new restaurant openings, and worked as an operations trainer in the U.S, impacting and influencing all operations.
Doug is an avid sports fan and a passionate dad. His passions include skiing, golf, squash, cooking, wine and living his best life with his wife Tanya and daughters Emma and Sophie.
