A Finance Manager in the restaurant/food service world as a head office position.

This position is responsible in ensuring that controls are in place for the timely accounting of all revenues and expenses.  Also to establish controls to monitor revenues and major expenses on a daily basis and ensure accuracy of the daily and monthly report.   Maintain the company’s books of accounts, and prepare a schedule/reconciliation of  every balance sheet account.

Reporting to the Controller will be responsible for the following controls are in place:
  • Preparation of the weekly profitability.
  • Inventory control systems (mid month and month end inventory.
  • Daily income audit, particularly checking all settlements.
  • Review and preparation of income journal.  Any discrepancy should be raised to the attention of the Controller.
  • Supervise A/R/AP and other accounting staff.
  • Proper coding of invoices.
  • Prepare account reconciliation or schedule of every balance sheet account.
  • Coordinate monthly closing (cash counts, inventory, AP closing).
  • Prepare the company financial statements.
  • Preparation of management reports.
  • Other task which maybe assigned.

As per job description we're looking for someone with a CPA (CPA-CA preferred).  Schooling likely to be from an accounting / finance / business field, but not too fussed about it.
 
 
 
 
Qualifications:
 
 
Education/Certification: Accounting Degree or CGA designation or CGA student, security clearance is a condition of employment, Word, Excel, MSI, Aloha, Simply Accounting,
 
Experience required: Minimum 3 years experience in accounting management in the hotel/food and beverage industry.   In depth knowledge of income audit,  POS and PMS systems.
